Golf O'Clock vs Birrdi: flat monthly pricing or a fee per booking

Oct 14, 20266 min read

The main difference between Golf O'Clock and Birrdi is how you pay. Golf O'Clock charges a flat monthly price by bay count, $150 CAD for the first 4 bays and $25 for each one after, with no fee per booking. Birrdi charges per reservation, from $1.00 down to $0.25 as volume grows. Both are built for golf simulator venues and both handle booking, memberships and door access.

We make Golf O'Clock, so weigh this accordingly. Birrdi's own website returned a security certificate error when we checked it on October 14, 2026, so its facts below come from its Square App Marketplace listing (updated August 2026) and from independent roundups that checked its pricing page in September 2026. Confirm anything that matters with Birrdi directly.

What each costs as you get busier

A flat price and a per-booking price cross over at some point, and where depends on how busy you are. Across the 200+ venues on Golf O'Clock, a typical bay sells about 1,900 hours a year and the average booking runs just under two hours, which comes to about 85 bookings per bay a month. Here's what that volume costs on each in US dollars, using Birrdi's published rates and, for Golf O'Clock's Canadian-dollar price, the Bank of Canada rate for October 13, 2026.

10850About $340About $211

Birrdi's figures are worked out, not listed, and assume each month's rate applies to every booking that month. Ask Birrdi how the tiers are applied, since that changes the totals. Birrdi's rates are treated as US dollars, as the roundups quoting them list them. Golf O'Clock is billed at $150 CAD for 4 bays and $25 CAD per extra bay; exchange rates move. Birrdi also lists a one-time setup fee; ask both vendors about setup costs.

Two things fall out of that. From 4 to 10 bays, Golf O'Clock costs about a third less or more, and it's still a little lower at 12. Only a very small studio, under about 175 bookings a month, comes out level or slightly cheaper on Birrdi. Past 1,000 bookings a month Birrdi's lowest rate narrows the gap, so a very busy large venue should still run its own numbers. The part a per-booking bill can't give you is a fixed cost: a good March doesn't raise your software bill on Golf O'Clock. More on the pricing models in what golf simulator software costs.

Where the two are close

Both are built for golf simulator venues, not adapted from a salon or gym tool. Both take bookings online, sell memberships with included hours, price by time of day, and let customers into an unstaffed venue through a RemoteLock lock tied to the booking. Both control the simulator side too, in different ways.

Where Golf O'Clock goes further

No fee per booking. The bill follows your bay count, not how busy you are, as the table shows.

Your own payment account, and more of them. Online payments go into the venue's own Stripe or Square account, and in-person food, drink and retail run through Lightspeed K-Series or Square. Birrdi is built around Square. See payments.

More door locks. Kisi, Avigilon Alta, RemoteLock, Rhombus, any lock with an HTTP interface, QR code locks and Golf O'Clock's own SmartLock. If you already own a Kisi or Avigilon setup, that matters. See bay access.

Simulator control that doesn't depend on the brand. Screen Marshal runs on each bay's Windows PC, keeps the simulator locked between bookings, unlocks it for the customer who booked, and lets staff lock, unlock, launch simulator titles and message every bay from one Command Center.

Pricing rules, the AI assistant and the API. Rates resolve by peak, member tier, package and even current utilization, the same way online and at the desk. Staff can describe a membership or an off-peak rate and the AI assistant sets it up for approval. Every venue has its own API, webhooks and MCP server.

Where Birrdi goes further

Level on price when you're very small. A 1 or 2 bay studio doing under about 175 bookings a month pays about the same or a little less on Birrdi.

Direct launch monitor control. Birrdi turns Uneekor, ProTee VX, Golf VX, IDRA and E6 Connect systems on and off around a booking. If you want the hardware itself switched on and off, rather than the bay PC locked, that's a real difference.

All-in on Square. If you already run your counter and retail on Square, Birrdi keeps everything there, and setup includes a Square Online website. Golf O'Clock doesn't build venue websites.

A self-serve setup option. Birrdi listed a lower-cost self-serve setup alongside a white-glove one. Golf O'Clock starts with a demo and the team configures the venue with you.

Which one fits your venue

Pick Birrdi if you run Uneekor, ProTee VX, Golf VX, IDRA or E6 hardware and want it powered on and off by the booking, and are happy on Square for everything.

Pick Golf O'Clock if you have 4 or more bays and want the lower, fixed monthly cost that doesn't rise with bookings, use Stripe, Lightspeed, Kisi, Avigilon or Rhombus, want the simulator locked between bookings whatever the brand, or need pricing with members, tiers and packages in it.

Either way, bring your bay count, last month's real number of bookings, your lock and your processor to both demos. Our comparison of nine booking platforms covers the rest of the field, and Golf O'Clock vs Birdie the other flat-priced option.

Does Golf O'Clock control the launch monitor like Birrdi?

Differently. Birrdi switches supported systems (Uneekor, ProTee VX, Golf VX, IDRA and E6 Connect) on and off around a booking. Golf O'Clock's Screen Marshal runs on each bay's Windows PC, keeps the simulator locked between bookings, unlocks it for the customer who booked, and lets staff launch simulator titles on every bay from one Command Center.

Which payment processors do Golf O'Clock and Birrdi use?

Birrdi is built around Square for payments and point of sale. Golf O'Clock takes online payments through the venue's own Stripe or Square account, and in-person sales through Lightspeed K-Series or Square.

Can I switch from Birrdi to Golf O'Clock?

Yes. Export a spreadsheet from Birrdi and Golf O'Clock imports your customers, tags, notes, marketing consent and active memberships with their renewal dates, so nobody signs up twice. Past bookings stay in the old system. More in switching booking systems.
