Letting customers extend their session

Golf O'Clock lets customers add time to their own booking from their phone, as long as the bay is free afterward, without walking to the desk. When a group is having a great time, more time is the easiest upsell there is.

In short: Golf O'Clock lets customers extend their golf simulator session from their phone. They pay now or leave a balance, and the bay stays open for the extra time.

How it works

If the bay is free after their session, customers can extend from their booking on their phone. They pay for the extra time straight away, or you can let it go on their balance to pay before they leave. If your bays use Screen Marshal, the bay simply stays unlocked for the extra time.

Your choices

  • Turn extensions off, allow them with payment now, or allow them with a balance due.
  • Limit extensions to certain customers, such as members or other tagged groups, if you prefer.
  • Staff can always extend any booking from the desk, the same way they move and edit bookings.

Why it matters

Across 200+ venues on Golf O'Clock, the average booking runs 1.95 hours in peak season and 1.75 hours in low season. A group that's enjoying itself often wants a little more than it booked. Letting them add it from their phone sells that time at your normal rate, instead of leaving the bay empty or sending someone to the desk.

Common questions

What if the bay is booked right after?
Customers can only extend into time that's free, so the next booking is never affected.
Is the extra time charged at the right rate?
Yes. It's priced with your normal rates for that time, including peak pricing.
Can customers extend after their session has ended?
For a short time after it ends, yes, so a group that just finished can still add more.
