Letting members cancel, resume or take a break

In Golf O'Clock, members cancel from their own account and keep access until the end of the period they've paid for, and staff can resume, pause or end a membership. Making it easy to cancel builds trust, and making it easy to come back wins members back.

In short: Golf O'Clock members cancel from their account and keep access to the end of their paid period. Staff can resume, move billing dates or end a membership.

Canceling a membership

Members cancel from their account in a couple of taps. Their membership stays active until the end of the period they've paid for, then ends on its own. Staff can cancel on a member's behalf too.

Changing their mind

Until the paid period runs out, a canceled membership can be resumed by the member or by staff, and billing carries on as before.

Taking a break

Staff can move a member's next billing date, for example to give a free month or pause over the summer. Access and the next charge move together.

Summer is the usual reason. In Golf O'Clock booking data from July 2025 to June 2026, venues averaged just under 50% utilization November through April and about 23% May through October. A pause keeps the member through the off-season, and for members who only play in winter, a seasonal pass may suit them better.

Ending straight away

When needed, staff can end a membership immediately from the member's profile.

Why venues use it

Members stay longer when leaving is simple and coming back is easier. Self-serve cancellation saves your team from awkward calls, the paid period still runs out in full so members feel treated fairly, and resuming before the period ends is a single tap.

Common questions

Do members get a refund when they cancel?
Canceling stops future charges. Any refund is up to you and handled separately.
Do unused included hours disappear?
No. Included hours already on the account stay there unless you remove them.
Can a member switch tiers?
Yes. End the current membership, then start the new tier online or from the desk.
