Golf O'Clock supports three kinds of customer balance: prepaid bay hours, a dollar wallet for house accounts and store credit, and loyalty points. Customers spend them at checkout, and prepaid balances bring money in up front and bring customers back.

## Three kinds of balance

- **Prepaid hours** for [hour packages](https://golfoclock.com/help/punch-passes-and-hour-packages) and [memberships with included hours](https://golfoclock.com/help/golf-simulator-membership-included-hours), such as 10 hours of bay time. Customers spend them on bookings.
- **A dollar wallet** for house accounts and store credit, which pays for bookings and purchases like cash.
- **Loyalty points** you give away, which customers redeem for discounts at the rates you choose.

## Using a balance

At checkout, customers see their available balances and apply them with one tap. Only what the booking needs is used, and the rest stays for next time. Canceling a booking returns what was used, as covered in [refunds](https://golfoclock.com/help/refunds).

## Where a balance can be spent

Limit a balance to certain situations, such as [lesson hours](https://golfoclock.com/help/golf-lessons-and-lesson-packages) that only work on lesson bookings, or hours that only apply off-peak.

## Shared balances

One balance can be shared with others, such as a family or a company account, while the owner keeps control of it.

## Which balance fits which customer

- **Prepaid hours** suit regulars who play often and want a better rate.
- **A dollar wallet** suits corporate clients and gift buyers who want flexibility.
- **Points** reward repeat visits without lowering your posted prices.

## Common questions

**Do balances expire?**
No. Balances stay until they're spent or removed by staff.

**Can staff add or remove credit?**
Yes, with a reason recorded for every change, such as compensation or a cash sale.

**Can customers see their balance?**
Yes, in their account.
