# TrackMan Booking & Payments or separate booking software: which does your venue need?

Oct 14, 20266 min read

If every bay in your venue is TrackMan and your players are happy to book in the TrackMan Golf app, TrackMan's own Booking & Payments may be all the booking software you need. A separate booking system earns its place when you run other simulator brands too, want customers booking on your own website under your name, need pricing the announcement doesn't mention, such as per-player rates, guest fees or prices that rise as bays fill, or want door access, payments and point of sale from specific providers.

We make Golf O'Clock, a separate booking system, so we have a side in this. What follows about TrackMan comes from [TrackMan's own announcement](https://www.trackman.com/blog/golf/introducing-trackman-booking-and-payments) of June 2, 2025. Check the current details with your TrackMan rep.

## What TrackMan Booking & Payments does

According to TrackMan, players find a venue and reserve a bay in the TrackMan Golf app, and can redeem credits or discount codes. Staff run the floor from the TrackMan Portal: check-in, walk-ins and peak pricing windows. Memberships can be unlimited access, limited hours, metered usage or punch cards. Players can order food and drink at participating venues. In an unmanned venue, a PIN sent by email or in the app opens the front door and starts the sim session. The announcement doesn't say how payments are processed.

The case for it: one company for the simulator and the booking, players already in the TrackMan app, and nothing to connect.

## When TrackMan's booking is enough

- Every bay is TrackMan, and you don't plan to add another brand
- Your players already use the TrackMan Golf app, or you're happy for them to
- Your memberships fit the types TrackMan lists: unlimited access, limited hours, metered usage or punch cards
- Its access and payment setup fits what you have, or what you'd buy

If that's your venue, start with what came with the hardware and see whether you outgrow it.

## When separate booking software makes sense

**Mixed bays.** Some venues run TrackMan in one premium bay and another brand in the rest. A separate booking system puts every bay on one calendar, so a customer picks a time and a bay type, and you can charge more for the TrackMan bay. See [different prices for premium and standard simulators](/help/premium-and-standard-simulator-pricing).

**Your own brand and website.** Some operators want customers booking on the venue's own site, with the venue's name on the confirmation and the customer list in the venue's own system. Ask TrackMan how much of the booking flow carries your brand.

**Pricing and memberships with more in them.** Peak and off-peak, member and non-member, tiers, packages, included hours, guest fees, per-player rates and promotions, all resolving the same way online and at the desk. If your pricing plan has more than a few lines, test it against each system in a demo. See [pricing rules](/features/pricing-rules) and [memberships](/features/memberships).

**Specific access, payments and point of sale.** If you already own Kisi, Avigilon Alta, RemoteLock or Rhombus locks, take payments through Stripe or Square, or run the bar on Lightspeed, you'll want booking software that connects to those directly. See [integrations](/integrations).

**Locking the bays between bookings.** In an unstaffed venue, the simulator itself should be locked when nobody has booked it. [Screen Marshal](/features/screen-marshal) does that on each bay's Windows PC and unlocks it for the customer who booked. TrackMan says its PIN opens the door and starts the sim session, so ask what keeps a bay nobody booked from being played. If any of your bays aren't TrackMan, they need their own lock either way.

## Questions that settle it

Take these to a TrackMan rep and to any booking software you're considering, and compare the answers side by side:

1. What does it cost per bay, and is there a fee per booking or on payments?
2. Can customers book on our website, and whose name is on the confirmation?
3. Can it book every bay we have, including other simulator brands?
4. Can it run our membership and pricing plan as written, including member rates, packages and included hours?
5. Which door locks and payment processors does it connect to?
6. Can we export our customers and memberships if we leave?

The full field of booking platforms, with prices, is in our [comparison of golf simulator booking software](/blog/best-golf-simulator-booking-software), and what each pricing model costs is in [what golf simulator software costs](/blog/golf-simulator-software-cost).

## Where Golf O'Clock fits

Golf O'Clock is booking and venue management for indoor golf, used by 200+ venues. It doesn't connect to TrackMan's own app or player accounts; it sits above whatever simulators you run and handles the bookings, memberships, access and payments. It costs $150 a month for the first 4 bays and $25 per extra bay (£150 and £25 in the UK, €150 and €25 in the eurozone), with no fee per booking and no contract. Details about TrackMan come from its public announcement of June 2, 2025 and may have changed since. ## Frequently asked questions

**Does TrackMan have its own booking software?**

Yes. TrackMan Booking & Payments, announced in June 2025, lets players reserve a bay in the TrackMan Golf app and pay for it, with credits, discount codes, peak pricing windows, memberships, food and drink ordering at participating venues and a PIN that opens the door and starts the sim session in unmanned venues, managed from the TrackMan Portal.

**Do I need separate booking software if I have TrackMan simulators?**

Not always. If every bay is TrackMan and players are happy booking in the TrackMan Golf app, TrackMan's own booking may be enough. A separate system earns its place when you have other simulator brands too, want booking on your own website under your brand, need pricing rules beyond peak windows and membership types, use a specific door lock or POS, or want payments in a Stripe or Square account you already run.

**How much does TrackMan Booking & Payments cost?**

TrackMan's announcement doesn't list a price, so ask your TrackMan rep for the per-bay cost and any per-booking or payment fees, and compare them on your own bay count and booking volume.

**Can I use other booking software with TrackMan simulators?**

Yes. Booking software decides who has the bay and when; the simulator runs the golf. Golf O'Clock books any simulator bay whatever the brand, and can price a TrackMan bay differently from the rest, for example at a premium rate.
